MEMORIAL SPACE: An intimate cocoon of memory. Petruding from the main space is a smaller dome. This space cannot be entered. the inner skin is lined with charcoal and ash from the mountain. We can stand at the perimeter, looking into blackness towards a pin-prick of light in the centre. CENTRAL DOME: An air-form structure. To ring beam foundations is attached an inflatable air-form skin. This skin is printed with shadow images of the telescope. THE FLOOR: A path is formed around the exhibition space which is clad in singed timber from the mountain. The burnt wood converges in the centre. Here it meets a shallow concave in the floor. This is lined with charcoal and ash.
